Lot Essay

The sculptor and cast maker, Giovanni Antognazzi was born in Florence in 1935. He gained scholarship to the Art Institute of Pietrasanta in 1953 specialising in sculpture, initially setting up a workshop in Florence which later relocated to Pietrasanta. He has shown his own work exclusively at Raffaello Romanelli's Art Gallery in Florence since 1960.
