LA MISSION HAUT BRION
La Mission has 21 hectares of vines planted with 48 Cabernet Sauvignon, 45 Merlot and 7 Cabernet Franc. Since 1983 both La Mission Haut-Brion and Haut-Brion have been owned by the Dillon family. The grapes are hand-harvested and sorted in the vineyard on mobile sorting tables. The wine is fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel vats at an average temperature of 30 degrees and then matured in oak barriques (100 new) for 18 to 22 months. Annual production is approximately 100,000 bottles and the second wine is called Château La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion.
