Urn-form, the lower body chased with leaves and acorns, the shoulder applied with scrolling foliate border, with two serpent handles, the domed cover with pod finial, one side of body engraved with an Earl's coat-of-arms, marked on base and cover bezel

Lot Essay

The arms are those of Boyle impaling Poyntz for Edmund, 8th Earl of Cork (1767-1856) who married in 1795 Isabelle Henrietta, 3rd daughter of William Poyntz of Midgham, Berkshire.
