A FINELY CARVED IVORY RECTANGULAR SEWING BOX AND COVER
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The top of the cover is finely and densely carved in relief with a military procession with banner, equestrian and foot men. The sides of the box are similarly decorated with figures at leisure amongst trees. The interior is divided into several compartments with various boxes, utensils and implements. There is a pair of handles to the sides and a lock and key to the front.
