A CARVED LONGQUAN CELADON BOWL
MING DYNASTY, 15TH/16TH CENTURY
The bowl is sturdily potted with deep sides rising from a short foot, covered overall in a thick celadon glaze. The interior is carved with a central medallion enclosing a floral spray, surrounded by further flower heads borne on leafy sprigs. The exterior is similarly decorated, with a band of lotus petals encircling the foot.
