Lot Essay

With Rolex original Guarantee, sales tag, seal and anchor and fitted green wooden presentation box.
Furthermore delivered with photocopy of the job description of the current owner for the Balmoral project in quality of Manager, Project Cost Control, the map of the Balmoral development project and several photographs.

Consigned to the auction by the original owner, this watch was presented to him by COMEX in recognition for his services and it is sold with a variety of documents and photographs showing the different stages of the owner's involvement in the Balmoral Development project in the North Sea.
Balmoral Development project was one the largest single reservoir development project ever undertaken by Sun Exploration International where the current owner was employed as of Manager, Project cost Control.

As of the late 1960s, Rolex supplied different Submariner models with or without the patented gas escape valve to the side to COMEX (Compagnie Maritime d'Expertise) in Marseille, a professional diving operation active in the oil industry.

The present watch is from the reference 16800 series, in production from 1982 until 1986, with the COMEX designation number 6120 on the outside of the screw back.

Its freshness to the market, the overall original condition and the private provenance, supported by the documentation accompanying the watch, make it a very attractive addition to any Rolex collection.
