A CHINESE CELADON JADE 'LOTUS LEAF' CUP
The Burton Collection of Chinese Works of Art Christie's is delighted to offer these works of art (Lots 510 - 518) from the collection of Sir Montague Burton (1885-1952) assembled in the early 20th century. Montague Burton arrived in Yorkshire from Lithuania in 1900, in 1910 he established a clothing manufacture factory that became the largest in Europe. He travelled extensively and a trip to China in 1934 no doubt fired his fascination with Chinese art. This selection is offered on behalf of one of his direct descendants.
