Lot Essay

Neya Churoku was born in Osaka and graduated from the Tokyo School of Fine Arts where he studied with Tsuda Shinobu. He exhibited at both the Teiten and Bunten exhibitions and between 1928 and 1934 he was awarded two Tokusen prizes. He was also invited to exhibit at the World Art Fair in Chicago in 1933.
