Signed in gold lacquer Taishin [Ikeda Taishin (1825-1903)] and incised signature Zeshin [Shibata Zeshin (1807-1891)]
Decorated in gold, black and brown hiramaki-e and takamaki-e, cut shell and lead inlay on a seido ground with auspicious symbols including the kakuregasa [hat of invisibility], shippo-mon [seven jewels] and an incised tsuchi [magic mallet], fitted wood box
