A WHITE JADE BUCKLE
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The buckle is carved in high relief in the form of an open handscroll illustrating a lotus leaf, bud and flower painting, the underside carved with two knops, one incised with a cicada and the other with a flowerhead.
4 in. (10.2 cm.) diam.
Provenance
From a Private East Asian Collection predominantly formed in the 1980s and 1990s in Hong Kong.
Acquired in 1990.
