The vessel is of European form with a hinged cover and arched handle simulating a branch, the slender ovoid body is decorated in repoussé with a lively battle scene below figures at leisure before pavilions, the neck with banded decoration including bamboo and scrolling foliage, the base marked 06 WH.

In Chinese Export Silver by H.A.Crosby Forbes et al., Massachusetts, 1975, it records W.H. as the mark of Hong Kong maker Wang Hing.
