A BLUE AND WHITE AND UNDERGLAZE COPPER-RED DRAGON STEM CUP
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722) OR LATER
The vessel is decorated to the exterior with two five-clawed dragons writhing against a ground of stylised foaming copper-red waves interspersed by rocks, all between double underglaze blue bands encircling the rim and base of the foot, the interior centred with an apocryphal six-character Xuande reign mark within a double underglaze blue circle.
5½ in. (14 cm.) diam.
