THE CHRIS BENNETT COLLECTION OF SNUFF BOTTLES (LOTS 1239-1242 INCLUSIVE) Christie's are delighted to offer this collection of snuff bottles assembled by Chris Bennett over the last 35 years. Chris Bennett began collecting in 1976 after an impulse purchase from a local Scottish auction house which led to a lifelong fascination with this collectable art form. She joined the International Chinese Snuff Bottle Society in the mid 1990s and bought from specialist dealers and from Christie's and Sotheby's.

The first is a carved agate bottle decorated with a boy playing a flute while riding a buffalo, the stone is of a translucent grey tone. The second is an agate bottle which is carved in relief with two tree shrews and grapevines to one side, the reverse is carved with a fisherman; and two further bottles.
The largest 2¾ in. (7 cm.) high, stoppers (4)
