Lot Essay

This trunk was made for the Metropolitan Opera singer, Lucrezia Bori and was inherited by Bori's companion and social secretary, Jennie Grazzini, upon Bori's death. Each year Bori and Grazzini would travel from the USA to Paris, bringing the trunk, together with Bori's costume designs for the upcoming season; Bori had all the designs realised, made-up and fitted in Paris.
