PTOLEMAIC PERIOD, 304-30 B.C.
Depicted seated with his feet apart on a trapezoidal integral plinth, wearing a short pleated kilt, a cap-crown and an incised broad collar, a papyrus scroll unrolled on his lap, his large eyes once overlaid, preserving traces of gold for the sclerae, the sides of the plinth incised with hieroglyphs, the front reading: "Imhotep, Giver of Life;" one side reading: "(to) Mehenu(??) son of I"
