CIRCA 1750, HE WITH BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK TO REVERSE OF BASE
Modelled by J.J. Kändler as a youth and companion seated on tree-stump bases, he wearing a wide-brimmed hat, turquoise jacket with pink bows, white trousers, turquoise stockings and white shoes with pink bows, she with a buff-coloured hat, turquoise bodice and skirt painted with indianische Blumen, each holding two branches encrusted with trailing flowers issuing a petal-shaped sconce and drip-pan, on scroll-moulded bases enriched in gilding (she cracked across right foot and restored, one sconce and drip-pan reattached with later bolt, some chipping to applied flowers and leaves)
