A RHINOCEROS HORN LEAF-SHAPED BRUSHWASHER
QING DYNASTY, 17TH/18TH CENTURY
The brushwasher is carved in the form of a open upturned leaf with a cicada rendered in high relief on the interior. The exterior is carved with veins rendered in shallow relief with a few seemingly rough patches to simulate worming.
