A JADEITE VASE AND COVER
Of flattened baluster form with oval section, the vase is carved in high relief on one side near the base with a pair of quails, one shown recumbent, one standing, beneath stalks of millet issuing from rockwork. One narrow side of the vase is similarly carved with a cherry tree rising from the base to the mouth rim, with a pair of birds perched on top. The domed cover is carved with a hatch-pattern band around the sides beneath a plain oblong finial.
