Lot Essay

Knowing their wedding in Gibraltar, March 20, 1969 would be a huge press event, John and Yoko decided to use the publicity to promote world peace, spending their honeymoon in the presidential suite (Room 702 at the Amsterdam Hilton Hotel) between March 25 and 31.

According to the vendor, who was 16 at the time, he sent a note to Lennon at the Amsterdam Hilton with a home-made stamped return postcard, asking him "Can you please sign the card, with a drawing?"
