Formé d'un coquillage triton prélevé au fond de la mer par des plongeurs, ce type d'instrument était utilisé pour annoncer les évènements importants, tels que le début d'un combat ou pour annoncer le premier-né d'un chef (Meyer, 2008). Notons la superbe qualité du tressage de la poignée.
