Lot Essay

The painted panel of Aurora is after a detail of L'Aurore et Céphale by Pierre-Narcisse Guérin (1774-1833). This painting was exhibited in the Paris Salon of 1810 and 1814, and is currently displayed in the Musée de Louvre.
