A STAFFORDSHIRE SALTGLAZED STONEWARE PUZZLE-JUG, A HOT-MILK-JUG AND COVER, A WARMING STAND AND A RETICULATED PLATE
CIRCA 1740-50
The puzzle-jug applied with fruiting grapevine including a drab and a manganese applied clay bunch; the pear-shaped jug and cover with bird finial, applied with die-cast rosettes and strapwork among meandering vine, on three paw and lion mask feet; the circular stand pierced as berried leaves, the top sprigged with a double-headed eagle, an heraldic shield, a bird, a leaf, a flower and a Scotsman; and the plate molded with basketwork panels within a C-scroll and pierced trellis border
