TWO GLASS SNUFF BOTTLES
1720-1880
The first, Imperial Glassworks, Beijing, 1720-1840, is of tapering, rounded form with a recessed, concave oval foot, with swirling ochre, tawny brown, and light yellow threads sandwiched between two transparent yellow layers. The second, 1770-1880, is of flattened pear shape with mask-form handles flanking the neck. The transparent pale yellow glass is suffused with reddish-brown splashes.
2 in. and 2 3/8 in. (5.1 cm. and 6.1 cm.) high, coral and rose quartz stoppers (2)
