TWO JADEITE SNUFF BOTTLES
1780-1920
The first, 1780-1860, is of circular shape and carved on either side with a raised circular panel, one enclosing a scene of a lady seated in a garden amongst rockwork and flowers, the reverse with a seven- character inscription describing the scene. The second, 1840-1920, is of high-shouldered tapering form and mounted on the narrow sides and neck with enameled and gilt metal. Either main side is further embellished with similarly enameled gilt-metal roundel. Together with a circular mottled green jadeite snuff dish.
Both 2 in. (5.2 cm) high, 1¾ in. (4.4 cm.) diam., coral and jadeite stoppers (3)
