TWO CARVED RED LACQUER SNUFF BOTTLES
1800-1900
The first is of cylindrical form and carved with a continuous scene of a scholar accompanied by three young boys in a garden setting. The base is inscribed with an apocryphal four-character Qianlong seal mark. The second bottle is of flattened, rounded form and carved with a continuous scene of scholars in a rocky landscape beneath pine trees. The neck is encircled by a stylized cloud collar and a decorative floral band.
2 15/16 in. and 2¾ in. (7.5 cm. and 7 cm.) high, glass and jadeite stoppers (2)
