Lot Essay

The combination of the prunus flower and the archaic bronze drinking vessel, jue, conveys the meaning, 'May you flourish and rise in rank.' The prunus flower, meihua, shares the same pronunciation with flourishing (hua), while the character for the bronze jue is the same word for 'noble rank.'
