A MUGHAL-STYLE GREYISH-GREEN JADE SWORD HILT AND CHAPE
19TH CENTURY
The hilt, of flattened baluster shape, is carved with flowers and leaves, as is the scrolled pommel surmounted by a bud, and the scrolled quillon block, which are joined by a curved strap carved as a slender leaf terminating at the top in a bud. The separate, similarly carved chape, is of conforming outline and has a small loop on one side.
