A PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE HANGING VASE AND COVER
The pear-shaped vase is carved and undercut on one side with a writhing dragon contesting a flaming pearl with a smaller descending dragon against a dense ground of clouds. The foliate-scroll handles flanking the neck are attached to linked chains that are pendent from the yolk handle carved as two confronted dragon/birds with looped tails. The cover is surmounted by a further, coiled dragon issuing vapor from its jaws. The eyes of this dragon and the larger dragon on the vase are picked out in russet color in the semi-translucent stone.
10½ in. (26.7 cm.) high with handle, wood stand
