A red sandstone relief with Ganesha and Shakti
India, Madhya Pradesh or Rajasthan, 10th century
Ganesha seated on a lotus pad holding a sweet, elephant goad, and axe, turned towards Shakti who is seated on his thigh and holding a lotus blossom, both heavily adorned with beaded jewelry and flanked by intricately carved columns, with his rat at lower left
