A gilt bronze figure of a Lama
Mongolia, Zanabazar style, 17th/18th century
Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with his right hand raised in vitarkamudra and his left holding a manuscript, dressed in voluminous patchwork robes with hems incised in a floral pattern, the face with bow-shaped mouth and downcast eyes flanked by prominent ears, the base sealed and incised with a gilt double-vajra

The artist has visually united the figure with the lotus base by means of a floral pattern present on the elevated section and the border of the lama's robe.
