A black stone stele of Ganesha
Nepal, circa 16th century
Seated in lalitasana on a lotus base holding a mala, axe, bowl of sweets and his broken tusk in his four hands, adorned with various jewelry with a serpent tied across his belly and a sash draped over the shoulders, the face with heavy-lidded eyes flanked by wide ears and surmounted by a foliate headdress, backed by an aureole with flaming border
