(Title border wormed with small loss and trimmed at one edge, small wormhole continuing in first quire, light wear to fore-edge of first and last leaves, occasional light browning and light soiling.) 20th-century red leather gilt. FIRST PRINTING of Pérez de Oliva's Diálogo de la dignidad del hombre, an important poem reflecting the Renaissance view of man as a second creator. It is preceded by a long dedicatory letter to the conquistador Hernán Cortés, whom Cervantes de Salazar knew personally. All three parts of the Obras were published by 28 June of the same year, consisting of further texts by Mexía and Juan Luis Vives, with Cervantes's own important dialogues on contemporary life in Mexico city.
