TWO LARGE BRONZE MIRRORS
TANG DYNASTY (618-907)
One has a flattened knob encircled by a narrow band of stamens and a band of overlapping petals surrounded by a broad, plain field separated from the rounded outer rim by a canted border. The other has a large knob encircled by six mythical beasts racing amidst grapevine below dogtooth borders. The outer field has a band of birds and racing animals separated by foliate sprays bordered by an inner band of foliate scroll repeated on the rim.
