A PAIR OF CLOISONNE ENAMEL CANDLESTICKS
YONGZHENG/QIANLONG PERIOD (1723-1795)
Each is decorated with dense lotus scroll, and has a bell-shaped pedestal base decorated with chilong confronted around shou characters within gilded borders of pendent chimes and ruyi heads. The large floriform drip pan supports the tapering columnar stem and smaller drip pan above.

Lot Essay

A related pair of cloisonné enamel candlesticks, also elaborately decorated and richly gilded, was sold at Christie's London, 9 November 2010, lot 223, where they were dated to the 18th century.
