Ce dessin et le suivant sont comparables à deux autres feuilles de Salomon van Ruysdael de technique similaire et typiques des paysages réalisés par les artistes de l'école de Haarlem autour de 1635 (Kabinet van Tekeningen, 16e en 17e eeuwse Hollandse en Vlaamse tekeningen uit een Amsterdamse verzameling, cat. expo., Paris, Institut Néerlandais, 1976, p. 66, no. 111-12, pl. 54-55).
