AN HISPANO-MORESQUE COPPER-LUSTRE AND BLUE FOUR-HANDLED BALUSTER VASE
CIRCA 1400-45, PROBABLY VALENCIA, MANISES
With four loop handles, painted in blue and copper lustre, the neck with rectangular panels of hatched ornament alternating with geometric ornament enclosing foliate forms, the body with similar tapering panels and one panel of debased Kufic script, below stylised foliate ornament, above a geometric pattern band, the interior of the neck with a band of scrolls, on a short foot, foot cracked and replaced, flat rim chip, slight flaking to glaze
