Comprising a mantel clock and pair of seven-light candelabra; the clock surmounted by Cupid astride a dolphin, above a circular clock case flanked on each side by an cherubic triton, the base centered by Neptune and Amphitrite, on a pierced scrolling base, the candelabra modeled en suite with tritons
The clock: 28½ in. (72.5 cm.) high, 26¾ in. (68 cm.) wide
The candelabra: 33 in. (84 cm.) high (3)

Lot Essay

A clock of the same model is in the collection of the Pitti Palace, Florence, which was acquired in 1845 from Lefevre and Chevrier, Paris (M. Chiarini, Gli Appartamenti Reali di Palazzo Pitti, Florence, 1993, p. 241). A related garniture by Monbro Frères was sold Christie's, New York, 25 October 2007, lot 433 ($79,000).
