Gouache heightened with gold on paper, the Mughal official Mir Jumla wears white robes and carries an elegant jade-hilted dagger, with flowering plants below, on a wide green background, set within three gold illuminated borders with scrolling vine on polychrome ground, the portrait identified on the upper margin in black nasta'liq, reverse with a Persian quatrain in nasta'liq in white clouds reserved against gold ground, signed katabahu gholam-e rasul omidvar-e fazl o karam, mounted with old sale label
