Inscription: An incomplete inscription in a 19th Century hand on the lower part of the margin reads, 'Sikko La

A folio of the same size also illustrating a Sikh couple which is probably from the same workshop is in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, (inv. AL.9254:25, Mildred Archer, Company Paintings, Indian Paintings of the British period, London, 1992, p.58).
