Gouache heightened with gold on paper, a standing youth in gold- heightened robes and a tulip in his turban holding his falcon, the background decorated with flowering plants in gold, set inside a border containing rectangular cartouches with lines in nasta'liq with verses from the sixth chapter of the Bustan of Sa'di, with interspersed gold and polychrome floral vine illumination, an outer border with gold floral decoration on turquoise ground, wide gold-speckled salmon coloured margins, reverse with 5ll. of large nasta'liq couplets set in white cloud on gold illuminated ground, interspersed with four pairs of lines of smaller nasta'liq verses set inside gold speckled turquoise borders, and small gold and polychrome illuminated cartouches with cusped palmettes, set inside wide gold-speckled turquoise margin, light creases to the surface of the painting, mounted
