Half of this estate was acquired by the Müller family in 1954 and the other half was leased. The wines are vinified at the Scharzhof cellar. Wiltinger Braune Kupp is about 4 ha and of brown lime stone. This one of the warmest vineyard areas of the Saar valley a very steep vineyard. In difficult years earlier ripe then Scharzhofberg.
As could be expected the quality here is very high, however the small production make them very hard to find.
We begin this selection with the 1989, this vintage has a natural lower acidity but as Saar wines always have more acidity then Mittle Mosel this vintage was more successful here then in other regions. A great classic.
1995 is a undeservedly forgotten vintage, according to Egon Müller. Complete wines with nice balance between acidity and sweet fruit.
