A PALE CELADON JADE BOULDER
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The boulder is of irregular form, finely carved in deep relief with figures in a boat sailing along a flowing river beneath tree-lined crags. A poem referring to 'The Ode to the Red Cliff' is inscribed on rocks above a branch of pine trees on the reverse. The stone is of an even celadon tone suffused with opaque russet inclusions.
5 1/8 in. (13.2 cm.) wide.
