A GRISAILLE-DECORATED CYLINDRICAL VASE
REPUBLIC PERIOD (1912-1949)
The ovoid vase is potted with a waisted neck rising to a flaring mouth rim, supported on a short foot. The exterior is decorated with a continuous riverside snowscape scene, with fishing boats and two terraced pagodas along the waterfront. Two figures highlighted in blue and yellow enamels are depicted walking amongst tall trees and rocks. The interior of the mouth rim is decorated with a ruyi-head border. The base is enamelled in blue with an apocryphal Qianlong four-character mark within a double square.
