A MOTTLED GREY JADE CARVING OF A DUCK AND A JADE BELT HOOK
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The recumbent bird is carved and pierced with its head turned back over its body, its feathers finely detailed, its feet tucked underneath, the pale grey stone with darker grey inclusions. The belt hook is carved and pierced with a dragon-head terminal, the shaft surmounted by a sinuous chilong, the creamy stone with dark grey inclusions.
