A BLUE AND WHITE GLOBULAR JAR AND A COVER
TRANSITIONAL PERIOD, CIRCA 1630-50
The vessel is decorated with a geometric band to the rim enclosing cloud scrolls above two scenes of soldiers amongst rocks and plantain. The domed cover is decorated with a scholar and an attendant in a mountainous landscape scene, and is surmounted by a metal ring finial.
7½ in. (19 cm.) diam.
