A VERY LARGE BLUE AND WHITE KRAAK PORSELEIN CHARGER
WANLI PERIOD (1573-1619)
The foliate rimmed dish is decorated to the central roundel with a star-shaped panel depicting a jardinière decorated with horses amongst foaming waves, containing a handscroll, peonies and chrysanthemum, resting on a tree-root pattern. The rim is decorated with radiating panels enclosing precious objects, peaches and flowers. The reverse is decorated with geometric symbols.
