Signed Iwashiro Mitsumori zo, Meiji period (late 19th century)
Each decorated in nunomezogan, engraved, carved and inlaid in gilt on a patinated ground; one with a Chinese scholar and his servant beside a waterfall, the reverse with Hantaka releasing a dragon from his iron bowl; the other with a rural scene with thatched huts, the reverse with Shiubaka Sonja on a tiger, each with handles in the form of karashishi heads
