APPARENTLY UNMARKED, PERHAPS ITALIAN, DATED 1872
Oblong and on four claw feet, the hinged cover set with three enamelled coats-of-arms, each within flower borders, one engraved with the date 11 June 1872, further set with turquoise cabochons, the sides with an engraved inscription in Flemish, the interior lined with red velvet
7¼ in. (18.4 cm.) wide
The arms from right to left are those of the city of Antwerp; Pope Pius IX and Belgium.
The Flemish inscription reads 'De Katholieke Kring Van Antwerpen Aan.Zyzen.Voorzitter Fred Belpaire'
