Lot Essay

A spider-leg table with the same turned profile to the foot but lacking the lustrous mahogany top, was sold from the Jackson Mitchell Collection, Sotheby's, New York, 30 April 2003, lot 451 ($5,700 including premium). Another related example was sold anonymously Christie's, London, 31 October 2012, lot 79, (£13,750 including premium).
