CASE: the part spiral-twist and part fluted tapering column on a square section plinth, on four gilt-brass folding feet applied with foliage and a mask, the scroll and foliate engraved gilt-brass top with central finial flanked by Vernier adjustment finials, front signed Invented and made by Dan. Quare London, numbered to side N 17 PLATES: the silvered scales engraved with the various weather conditions, calibrated 28-31 in., blued-steel recorders; glass tube replaced
